The climate crisis demands urgent action at unprecedented scale. But political, corporate, industrial, financial, and regulatory systems aren’t moving fast enough to scale the renewable energy solutions that are necessary and ready to go. Shifting these systems requires collective power: people, communities, and institutions working together across sectors and borders.
That kind of power needs to be built. Driven by the imperative of climate justice, we exist to build the infrastructure that makes aligned collective action possible: identifying high-leverage opportunities, connecting diverse actors, and creating the conditions for transformative change at scale.
Operating primarily in Asia, Europe, and the United States, we focus on where outcomes can have catalytic impacts beyond borders and where strategic interventions can unlock transformation across entire systems.

Grantmaking
The Sunrise Project provides strategic grants to partners that share the goal of accelerating the transition to renewable energy. Around two-thirds of the funds we receive are re-granted.
